"Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Ahinoam." (Judges 5:12)
"Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame." (1 Corinthians 15:34)
It's not a time to be asleep - spiritually speaking. It's a time to shake off all slumber...awake fully and thoroughly...and refuse all carnal intoxication and conscious security. Don't allow any languor or remissness in your spirit. Arouse yourself - with more ardor and zeal - to attend to the mission that God has laid out before you. Be determined to exert all your powers in this project. Throw yourself into it.
God has called you to "lead thy captivity captive." In other words, He has called you to make those captive who formerly captivated you. Lead away these captives as the fruit of victory of war.
But it will not happen unless you rouse yourself to the way of righteousness, holiness, and sound doctrine. Don't trifle with God. Break off all sins by repentance. Renounce and forsake every evil way. Correct whatever is amiss. And be sure to shake off all sloth in knowing God in the power of His resurrection.
"Awake, awake...awake, awake...arise...and lead thy captivity captive..."
This is your charge!
Your mission can be accomplished, but it will take a stirred-up heart...made-up mind...holy walk...and the knowledge of God.
Go for it!
