Message From Connie A Prayer Request
First of all, I want to thank all
of you who took the time to write to Richard Roberts.
Your words of encouragement were so uplifting at this
time to both he and his wife Barbra.
Because it is not possible for
him to personally respond to each and every one of you,
I had asked him to write and send me a short paragraph
expressing his appreciation - which I would then post
over the Internet to my list of subscribers.
The following are his exact words
-
"I just want
to thank you for giving of your time and of yourself to
pray for someone you do not even know. You have blessed
me and helped me feel that God really does care. As you
have cared for me, I pray that He will help me to care
and show His love to someone as you have to me. Thank
you. God Bless you. - Richard Roberts "
The main reason why I am sending
this e-mail is because Richard is facing one of the
fiercest battles in his entire life at this time.
This past week, his court
appointed lawyer(actually one of her assistants) came to
him offering him a plea bargain - a lessening of his
sentencing if he would only sign on the dotted line. He
did not understand everything that was involved and
asked for time to be able to read the fine print - so to
speak. He also requested that his wife Barbra would get
a copy to read through as well.
His lawyer told him that he did
not have time for all of this. He had to come to a quick
decision.
Richard refused to sign anything
that he didn't know the consequences thereof. His lawyer
did not explain things to him either.
Four days later, he found himself
in a court room where his lawyer and the prosecution
deliberated before a Judge. It was horrendous. He told
his wife that after leaving the court room, he felt as
though someone just killed him.
Because he did not take the plea
bargain, his own lawyer told him in a sense that it was
over for him...his future looked very bleak...and he
could expect to be put away for the maximum time
for each charge.
You can imagine what this did to
Richard and his family who were - up until this time -
trusting the Lord for a Miracle.
Needless to say - this event
threw this family's faith into a tailspin. It was as
though someone knocked the very wind out of them. This
had to be the hardest blow against them so far.
I am asking all of you to please
intercede for our Brother and his family. Because they
do not have alot of money, they had no other choice than
to get a court appointed lawyer. I must admit that she
has to be the world's worst. She had not stayed in
contact with Richard at all up until this time. He had
no idea what was going on behind the scenes. Then all of
a sudden, she and her assistants came up with an offer
and expected him to jump at it without knowing what it
entailed.
We have heard what the lawyers
have said and what the Judge has said - and they all
agree that it is all over for Richard. His future looks
very bleak.
But we have yet
to hear from the most important person in this entire
case - and Who by the way - has the final say on all
matters - and that is none other than the Lord
Jesus Christ - the Son of the Living God - King
of all kings and Lord of all lords.
Please believe with us for a
Miracle for Richard and his family.
God is well able to do exceeding
abundantly above all that we ask or think.
Let's never forget - it's not
over until God says it's over!
"Whose
report will you believe? We shall believe the report of
the Lord!"
Thank you from the bottom of my
heart for sharing this prayer burden with us.
May God bless and keep everyone
of you safe in His loving arms.
Connie
P.S. Richard overheard one of his
lawyers talking about sending him to a facility for 45
days for a mental evaluation in order to see if he is
fit to face his trial. He has no idea what this will
entail. When his wife tried to ask his lawyer about it,
he did not give her any explanation whatsoever. In my
opinion, it doesn't sound good at all. It is simply
worldly-wisdom at its worst!
Richard has been depressed alot
and cries alot. He misses his family so much. His son
just had their first Grandson and it is hurting him so
badly not to be able to see, hold, and kiss his little
baby.
He is not crazy in any sense of
the word. Who wouldn't react this way when they are
separated from a family whom they love and long to be
with? Actually, it seems as though Richard is the only
normal one in the picture!
May God take full control over
matters here and be in total charge of any decisions
made on his behalf.
Amen & Amen!
