What It Takes
To Get A Breakthrough

So many are looking for a easy way out. They want a "quick fix" for a Miracle.
In order to find one, some have gone to the extent of purchasing and "devouring" every book and tape of some renowned Preacher and Teacher - hoping to find instant relief from their problems.
Others have opted to visit every possible prayer line - hoping to receive a "word" from the Lord.
But what does the Bible say is the way to a Breakthrough?
May this message give you the answer that you have been searching for all along.

Charles Spurgeon once said - "Time is nothing to Him, let it be nothing to you. God is worth waiting for. 'He is never early; He is never late.' "

So what does it take to get a Breakthrough?
What is the #1 key in seeing the fulfillment of every promise that God has given over the years?

Are you ready for the answer? Do you really want to know what it is?

Wait!

That is the answer!

To "wait patiently for the LORD"(Psalm 40:1).

There are some principles that must be considered in order to develop a Biblical mindset for a Breakthrough.

They are as follows -

1. Picture Your Life As A Race

Hebrews 12:1 - "...and let us run with patience the race that is set before us."

You are in a race. You are on a certain course which has distinct limits and directives and requires active and passive obedience. You must not allow any obstructions to hinder your way. You need patience to overcome all of the difficulties and perseverance to resist all of the temptations which would seek to turn you aside from following the Lord.

2. Be Willing To Wait

Hebrews 6:15 - "And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise."

Between the promise and the performance of the promise, there is oftentimes a long wait - an interval - if you will. This time can be a very trying time. But you must be willing to patiently endure.

3. Don't Faint Or Grow Weary

Hebrews 6:15 - "And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise."

Knowing that God is Faithful, you must be willing to persevere through the hardest of times - continuing steadfast in the faith - having a confident expectation of the fulfillment of the promise. In "due season,"  He will show up and show off His Almighty Power.

4. Persevere In A Life Of Holiness

Romans 2:7 - "To them who by patient continuance in well doing..."

So many miss it here. In order to receive a breakthrough, you must be sure to persevere in doing that which is right...continue in good works and in the ways of righteousness...live as to show all that your aim and desire is to obey God no matter what the cost...have a holy ambition...seek first the Kingdom of God... conform your life to the Word of God...be consecrated and dedicated to the Lord God and His cause.

5. Do The Will Of God

Hebrews 10:36 - "For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise."

Do you want a Breakthrough? Then you must be willing to follow God's Will and not your own on every matter. Doing the will of God has much to do with "receiving the promise." Never forget that! So many want to "do their own thing" and still enjoy the blessings. It doesn't work that way! God is not mocked! It is His way or no way!

6. Be Patient In Trials

Hebrews 10:36 - "For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise."

Besides "doing the will of God," there must also be a daily patient attitude of submission to God's will in order to receive the promise. What is needed is a waiting endurance - lying calmly in the hands of the Lord - for His perfect timing for the end of the trial and the fulfillment of the promise.

7. Accept God's Will And Timing

Lamentations 3:25 - "The LORD is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him."

For those who accept His will and timing - are quiet and still from all complaining and murmuring - even though the trouble may be prolonged and all hope seemingly deferred - God promises the manifestation of His goodness in a very miraculous and tangible way.

8. Express A Confident Trust And Faith In God

Psalm 40:1 - "I WAITED patiently for the LORD..."

Even though relief does not come immediately or even when it seems as though the prayer will never be answered, this one - with a believing expectation - looks unto the Lord and Him alone and knows that He will come through in due time.

9. Be Still And Know That He Is God

Psalm 37:7 - "Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him..."

If you want a Breakthrough, you will have to be willing to silence your flesh and spirit before the Lord. There cannot be any worrying, complaining, anger, faultfinding or striving with your Maker, or rash decisions. You must be willing to "rest" - knowing that He is well able to clear up all of your difficulties.

10. Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled Or Afraid

Psalm 37:7 - "Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him..."

Even though the answer may be delayed, it does not mean that it is denied.
Even though God is no where to be seen, it does not mean that He is not at work.

You must remain calm and composed in active faith and not fret at the manner in which He works. In faith, agree with His ways and will - being totally convinced that He Who takes pleasure in your prosperity - in seeing that things go well for you - will work all things together for your good. Don't allow anything or anyone to sway you from such a belief.

Do you need a Breakthrough today?

You may have prayed and prayed and prayed with seemingly no change at all in sight.

The Holy Spirit would say to you this day - O weary Christian, "wait patiently for the LORD."

If you will be sure to follow His principles as outlined in His Word, He will be sure to see you through unto Victory.

We close with the exhortation from the Apostle Paul as found in Galatians 6:9 - "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

May God Bless His Word.
