Urgent Prayer Request For Richard Roberts -

Our Incarcerated Brother In Christ

 

As most of you know, Richard Roberts(no relation to Oral Roberts) has been in jail since last July awaiting trial for his drug related charges. During this time, this once backslidden Pastor has come back to the Lord in a glorious fashion. While he was in jail, he read through the entire Bible at least two times.

 

The last time that you heard from me - he was headed for the Federal Medical Center for mental evaluation to see if he was fit to stand trial. This was quite a horrendous experience and he and his family would want me to thank you for all of your prayers for he made it through this ordeal - only by the help and grace of Almighty God.

 

Let me share with you one experience. I had been feeling to send him a book on the "Blood of Jesus" - so I did. Shortly after reading this book, Richard got a new roommate who shared the rack beneath him. Throughout the night, he could hear this man making all kinds of guttural sounds. The next day, Richard told this fellow that he was demon-possessed and the man then admitted that he was at one time into Satanism. Thank God for the covering of His Blood on His children! The demons recognized the Jesus Who resided in Richard!   

 

His lawyer said that he would only be in this facility for a month and a half. Well, he ended up staying there for a longer period of time. Every day he was offered the legal "medicine" - Prozac - to help him get through his depression and broken heartedness - to which he strongly refused. It is a documented fact that most serial killers and murderers were on Prozac when they committed the crime.  Yet, here is a so-called professional facility strongly urging a man on a daily basis to take a deadly drug when drugs(methamphetamine) is what got him into trouble in the first place.

 

I do thank God for all of your prayers because the pull was very strong at times for Richard to take this "medicine" but - by the help and power of the Holy Spirit - he made it out of that place without taking their "legalized" and mind-twisting drug.

 

I now am coming to you with the urgent need to lift up our Brother-in-Christ in fervent prayer once again and believe with my family and his for a Miracle to happen this Monday - May 16th - which is the date of his Pre-Trial.

 

His lawyer has no "Good News" to offer him. She paints the future as being very bleak for him.

 

Please agree with me based on Psalm 33:10-11 for a Mighty Turnaround to occur and for Richard to be given a Second Chance -

 

"The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: He maketh the devices of the people of none effect. The counsel of the LORD standeth forever; the thoughts of His heart to all generations."

 

May this entire trial be directed by the Mighty Power of the Holy Spirit Who has kept Richard from all evil thus far and is leading him into a bright, happy, and holy future as a restored servant of the Most High God.
