I just received this e-mail (on Sunday at
10:30 PM) from a dear Sister-in-the-Lord -
Connie,
How is the minister you had us all praying for (and his family ) ? I ask cause just a few moments ago God urged me to pray for him again.......and I know you hadnt mentioned him in some time, so I was wondering how he is doing ? in Jesus jackie
Little did this sister know that this
urging of the Holy Spirit was so right on.
For those of you who are new to this list
- she is referring to Richard Roberts(not any relation to Oral
Roberts) - the incarcerated Pastor who we have been praying for
for the last year and a half. He has not yet been sentenced
for drug related charges.
Believe it or not - he has been in
solitary(isolation) for the past 130 days. The last I wrote to
you he had been jumped by two guys who broke his nose and ear
drum. Resultantly, as a matter of choice, he has requested that
he be placed in solitary - in order to avoid being attacked
again.
The last his wife heard from him was this
past Thursday. He is severely depressed and very suicidal. He
has absolutely no communication with another human being. This
has taken a toll on his mind and he presently has lost all hope
for living.
He has requested that his family as well
as mine stop writing to him and just forget about him. Of
course, we cannot do that and will not do that.
I am asking all of you to please begin to
lift this man up to the Lord in intense intercessory prayer. He
is at his wit's end and needs our earnest prayers at this hour.
The above e-mail indicates that very clearly for the sister who
received the call from the Holy Spirit to pray happens to be
from Florida and Richard is incarcerated in Texas - and she had
no idea of the recent events in his life.
How I thank God for the moving of the
Holy Spirit in quickening the Body to prepare for battle for His
own.
I do not have the time to give all the
details about Richard. He was backslidden but came back to the
Lord. He once was a Pastor who fell back into his past sinful
lifestyle at a time of great trouble in his life.
Please, please take the time to pray for
him as soon as you receive this e-mail. And if at all possible -
send it on to as many as you can.
Our brother needs a Miracle from God.
Satan is really taking advantage of him at this weakened state.
In Jesus' Mighty Name, let's push back
the Powers of Darkness which are trying to destroy his life.
I know that I can count on all of you to
help me carry this burden to the foot of the Cross.
