Who Said That You Can't Live For Jesus?

You may be facing many temptations...struggling in bearing your cross or all the adversities that are coming your way...going through fiery trials... encountering great persecutions for your Faith in Christ...or having problems keeping up your Christian walk by persevering in faith and holiness. Do you know that provision has been made for you to walk in victory? You don't have to yield to the devil and backslide. You can overcome all of his attacks that he sends your way. This message has your key. Get ready to give the Lord a shout of praise.

The Apostle Paul prayed a prayer for the saints that is recorded in two separate Epistles but has the same meaning. Ephesians 3:16 and Colossians 1:11 list it as follows:

"That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man."
"Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power..."

"...according to the riches of His glory..."
"...according to His glorious power..."

Not based on...not consistent with...not in keeping with your own power and strength, but based on...consistent with...and in keeping with "the riches of His glory" and "His glorious power" are you able to walk this walk consistently and effectively.

It is according to His glorious riches...the abundance of His grace which is inexhaustible and ample for all of your needs...the abundance of His great mercy...and the immense fulness of His wisdom, power, and mercy - that you are able to live holily and godly in this present world.

It is "according to His glorious power" - the sufficiency of strength, grace, and power coming from Him Who has all power in heaven and in earth(Matthew 28:18) - that you are supplied for every service and difficulty.

Hebrews 1:3 says - "...and upholding all things by the word of His power..." And that certainly includes your walk with Him.

There is nothing weak about your God. You may feel weak at times - not knowing how you will place one foot in front of the other. But with utmost certainty know that the God Whom you serve is not weak in any sense of the word.

In these Scriptures, Paul was referring to the Almighty's excellent, sufficient, and glorious power...the power of His glory...the power of the great and glorious God - the power that tends to promote His glory and show forth His praise.

One thing that must be settled in your heart today is this one truth - "Power belongs unto God"(Psalm 62:11). When you are hooked up with Him or abiding in Him, you are connected to the greatest power source this world has ever known.

Paul prayed for the believers that - "...according to the riches of His glory..." and "...according to His glorious power..." - they would "be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man" and  "Strengthened with all might..."

Notice that in both prayers he prayed for their spiritual strength. He was actually praying that they would be mightily and powerfully strengthened...their souls would receive a constant supply of grace...and their Christian walk would be constantly invigorated.

STRENGTH! STRENGTH! STRENGTH! Not weakness! But Strength!

It doesn't matter how many times you have fallen in the past. God wants you to know that from this day forward, you can walk in victory because of His "strength."

It is all possible because of His Holy Spirit power and anointing. By means of this same Spirit, Paul prayed that the saints would have their spirit strengthened - that His sovereign energy would be infused into their heart, mind, and soul.

The result?

They would be enabled to exercise the grace of God in their lives...perform their various duties...resist Satan and his temptations...oppose the corruptions of their old sinful nature...walk in holiness...hold fast their integrity...bear their cross...undergo afflictions, adversities, persecutions, and offenses cheerfully...persevere in their Christian walk with zeal, vigor, and joy...fight the good fight of Faith...and endure to the end.

It is imperative that every believer has his feelings, thoughts, and purposes placed more and more under the Holy Spirit's influence and direction. When he does, God's Spirit will then be able to manifest His power through him in a greater measure.

The Christian has to battle against many cunning and strong enemies...undergo many trials too great for human strength...resist temptations too powerful for human resistance...and perform duties that require divine strength. He needs a "strength" and power other than his own to come out victoriously. The Holy Spirit is that power available to all of the saints.

There is no excuse for not living in a manner worthy of the Lord. There is no possible reason  why every and all believers cannot overcome sin, Satan, and the world.

God will impart His very own life into you this day - enabling you to be strengthened with might and power to face all that comes your way.

Are you weak? Then you can be strong - "...Strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might" (Ephesians 6:10).

Our prayer for you this day is that of Paul the Apostle's - "That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man" - "Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power..."

May it be done according to His Word.
