God's Purpose For You Is A Super-Adequacy
"Whatever we may ask, or think to ask, still God is still able to do more, abundantly more, exceedingly abundantly more. Open thy mouth ever so wide, still He hath wherewith to fill it.
In our applications to God we should encourage our faith by a consideration of His all-sufficiency and almighty power..." - Matthew Henry
"An example of God's prodigality is found in the golden poly-pody fern, which is common in greenhouses as well as outdoors in such places as Florida. Each frond(a fern develops seven new fronds yearly) bears twenty-five leaflets. Each leaflet bears approximately one hundred sori(a sorus is a spore case). Each sorus contains an estimated 57,000 reproductive spores. This multiplies to a little less than one billion spores, each of which is a potential plant.
This is but one instance of the Creator's bounteous mode of operation. He purposes a super-adequacy. He demonstrated it with quails and manna, fish and loaves..."
"God's generous providence is everywhere manifest in the world around us. For instance, an ocean-dwelling turbot produces ten million eggs. A single water flea begets three billion progeny in sixty days time. It is conservatively reported that there are 400,000 species of plants in the world, 50,000 kinds of butterflies and moths, 20,000 varieties of birds, and stars without number. These represent but a few of His prodigalities.
And for what purpose? That mankind might richly enjoy them..."

"Open thy mouth ever so wide, still He hath wherewith to fill it."
Don't you just love this statement by Pastor Henry?
In other words, no matter how big your need is - God can supply it.
No matter how -
...confusing the matter at hand, He can straighten it out.
...intricate the problem, He can solve it.
...deep the hurt, He can heal it.
...impossible the situation, He can turn it around for your good..
No matter how wide you open your Faith "mouth," you will always find His supply greater... greater... and even greater still. You can never deplete the supply.
Let's settle it right now - it doesn't matter what the devil throws your way. God can handle it. You may not be able to do so. But He can!
He is God and forever will be God!
Bless His Holy Name!
Let's reflect on His creation for a minute as displayed in the illustrations above.
Did you notice the numbers that were quoted - 1 hundred, 20 thousand, 50 thousand, 57 thousand, 400 thousand, 10 million, 1 billion, 3 billion, and that which is without number? These totals come naturally to God. They are no big deal!
And why should they be?
It only makes sense that a Big God would deal with Big numbers, amounts, or totals!
And to think that we fret over a measly car note, electric bill, or house payment that is due.
Pastor Henry said - "Whatever we may ask, or think to ask, still God is still able to do more, abundantly more, exceedingly abundantly more."
Did you catch that?
No matter how impossible the situation that you are presently facing - "God is still able to do more, abundantly more, exceedingly abundantly more."
Just look at His creation and let that encourage your faith today.
The Scripture describes Him as a God Who is "able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think..."(Ephesians 3:20). In other words, He is a God Who can do immeasurably and infinitely beyond or far more than what we would ever dare to ask, imagine, or dream.
He is "the Living God, Who giveth us richly all things to enjoy"(1 Timothy 6:17). He generously and liberally endows us with everything that we need for our enjoyment.
In Psalm 13:6, David referred to Him as the God Who "dealt bountifully with me." He is so good to His children - looking for every opportunity to bless them richly and deal favorably and kindly with them.
Isn't that Wonderful?
The Apostle Paul alluded to the fact that God loves to shower His children with abundant blessings so much so that they will - in turn - have plenty to share with others - "Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness..." (2 Corinthians 9:11).
The Apostle James called Him the "Father of lights" from Whom "every good gift and every perfect gift" finds its source and "with Whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning"(James 1:17). Unlike money or wealth which is uncertain, untrustworthy, or transitory - He is without change - never having the slightest variation, alteration, or shadow of inconsistency.
What sort of needs are you facing right now?
Are they insurmountable?
Has the devil been telling you that he has conquered you - due to the impossibilities which you are presently enduring?
Consider God's All-sufficiency and Almighty Power as displayed in nature and allow your faith to be encouraged today.
Remember - For our Big God, numbers like 1 hundred, 20 thousand, 50 thousand, 57 thousand, 400 thousand, 10 million, 1 billion, and 3 billion mean nothing. He has a "bounteous mode of operation" and "He purposes a super-adequacy" for all of His children.
He is a Big God - so ask big of Him.
"Whatever we may ask, or think to ask, still God is still able to do more, abundantly more, exceedingly abundantly more. Open thy mouth ever so wide, still He hath wherewith to fill it."
Allow this message to cause your Faith to soar like an eagle into higher heights.
Trust Jesus with your need - however great or small.
He won't let you down.
He will do far more than you can conceive.
You just watch and see.
May God Bless His Word.
