A Message That Every Son Or Daughter Should Read
 
"For men shall be...disobedient to parents..." - 2 Timothy 3:2

Deuteronomy 21:18 says - "If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother..."
2 Timothy 3:2 tells us that in the Last Days - "...men shall be...disobedient to parents..."
 
The Apostle Paul let us know that one of the characteristics of the end times would be the uprising of unmanageable and arrogant children who would despise their parents' authority...slight their reproofs and admonitions...disobey their express commands...waste their substance...and grieve their hearts.
 
Look around you today. Is it not so that a rebellious, antichrist spirit is already at work in the children who are not yielded and consecrated to the Lord Jesus? Watch the Daily News and observe that - more and more - it is the younger ones who are committing the majority of crimes.
 
In the Book of Proverbs, King Solomon painted a picture for us of a perverse and disobedient generation. They are identified by three major characteristics.
 
1. They Rob Their Parents & Feel No Conviction About It
 
Proverbs 28:24 says - "Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer."
 
This is the generation that wants something for nothing. In other words, they do not want to work for their goods. They simply want them handed down to them on "a silver platter" - so to speak. They waste what they have or they run into debt and then leave their parents to pay for it all. They shift off all conviction for their wrongdoing by telling themselves that their parents' money will come to them shortly and be theirs through inheritance.
                                                                                                                                                   
"...the same is a companion of a destroyer" - Robbing parents - ruining their estate by riotous living...wasting what they have...running up enormous debts and then expecting them to pay for it -  is greater than any other kind of theft. The son or daughter who does this is likened unto a highway robber or even a murderer in God's sight.
 
2. They Have Stone Cold Hearts Toward Their Parents  
 
Proverbs 30:11 says - "There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother."
 
This generation is in total contradiction to the command given by God for children to honor their parents as outlined in the Scriptures -
 
Exodus 20:12 says - "Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee."
Deuteronomy 27:16 says - "Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen."
Matthew 19:19 says - "Honor thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."
Ephesians 6:1-2 says - "Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honor thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise."
Colossians 3:20 says - "Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord."
 
These children are graceless children. They are without natural affection. They wish on their father all the evils of this world. In fact, their desire is for him to die and be out of this world so that they would no longer be restrained by his authoritative hand or voice. To their mother - they cannot  give a good word. Instead they abuse her with bad language...wish her ill...and call her demeaning and insulting names.

3. They Scorn Their Parents' Advice, Admonitions, & Instructions
 
Proverbs 30:17 says - "The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it."
 
This generation looks upon their parents and their godly counsel or discipline with scorn and disdain. They have no regard to it. They hold obedience to them as a thing of no importance at all. They express their mockery and contempt with their "eyes" - disdainful, sour looks or facial expressions.
 
What this rebellious and insolent generation does not realize is that God's judgment comes very swiftly on those who do not heed His Word to obey or honor their parents.
 
Deuteronomy 27:16 says - "Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother..."
Proverbs 30:17 says - "The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it."
 
What does it mean when the Scripture says that - "The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it"?
 
Ravens, vultures, and other birds live on carrion. The first thing they attack is the eye of their prey. The mother bird will scoop out the eye of the dead carcass and carry it to the nest to feed her young.
 
The terminology used here is simply meant to portray an unnatural, untimely, or violent death coming to the son or daughter who scorns his or her parents' instruction and discipline. They die so suddenly that it is as if they are left unburied for the birds of prey to feast upon.
 
"God takes notice with what eye children look upon their parents..."
 
May all hear and fear who are reading this message.
 
As Parents, you are either raising your children for the Lord or for the devil.
As sons or daughters, you are either being "groomed" for the coming of the Lord or for the coming of the Antichrist.
 
Whose image are you bearing today?
 
Never forget - "Undutiful conduct toward parents is a very heinous sin."
